Facebook is updating its Live guidelines to limit the reach of fake and low-quality content. It’s explicitly disallowing publishers from posting prerecorded videos as if they’re livestreams and it also won’t allow for static/looping images or livestreamed polls.
Ever since livestreaming became an option on the network, some of the most viewed streams have fit into those categories. It’s common to see people sharing fake streams from the International Space Station, for example.
Don’t use the API to publish only images (ex: don’t publish static, animated, or looping images), or to live-stream polls associated with unmoving or ambient broadcasts. – Facebook
When a publisher breaks these rules, they’ll experience reduced visibility and repeat violations could lead to a publisher losing their Live access.
