Regina Dugan, Facebook’s lead consumer hardware executive, is departing the company after less than two years in the position. She’s been the leader of Building 8, a somewhat secretive lab within Facebook that’s focused on a range of products like brain-computer interfaces and augmented reality.
She’s leaving her leadership position to “focus on building and leading a new endeavor.” Dugan didn’t specify what her new project will entail. She joined Facebook in early 2016 after leaving Google’s advanced projects division. Dugan was one of Facebook’s major hires for its hardware division.
