To better handle reports of disallowed videos and other kinds of content, Facebook is adding a team of 3,000 moderators to the company. They’ll join Facebook over the coming year to improve the network’s response to flagged content.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the new review team on May 3. The moderators are joining the company in the wake of multiple high-profile cases of violence being streamed on Facebook Live or uploaded to the platform.
If we’re going to build a safe community, we need to respond quickly. We’re working to make these videos easier to report so we can take the right action sooner — whether that’s responding quickly when someone needs help or taking a post down. – Zuckerberg
