At the end of last month, Android creator Andy Rubin’s phone startup Essential has announced its first smartphone called Essential PH-1. While the first few days didn’t go without problems due to some potential trademark issues, the company has managed to secure more money in a fresh round of funding.
According to a latest report from Bloomberg, the startup secured $300 million in funding that values it at a $900 million to $1 billion valuation. There is no info on the investors who’ve participated, but it is important to note that the funding happened before the announcement of PH-1 smartphone.
