Andy Rubin’s Essential startup has confirmed a $300 million investment from the likes of Amazon’s Alexa Fund and Tencent. That funding round made its way into the news in June, yet it has just been confirmed. Essential says it’s going to provide an exact release date for its phone “in a week.”
We know the smartphone is set to arrive within “a few weeks,” but Essential hasn’t said when.
The company also revealed more information about the handset’s launch, noting Amazon and Best Buy will be among those carrying it in the US.
