Espresso Elementary, the online, multimedia teaching and learning site for Pre-K through Grade 5, today announced the launch of a new tool within the service – the Lesson Planner.
The Lesson Planner is an upgrade to the popular Route creator tool, which allowed teachers to gather resources from around the Espresso site and put them in sequential order with instruction or further guidance. Teachers used Routes as a framework for their lessons or to allow students to work independently. The new Lesson Planner maintains this functionality but now allows teachers to also create their own quizzes, build classes, set assignments and track student usage on Espresso. Students are given a simple code to login and access their personal assignments in Espresso.
This tool was developed in direct response to feedback received from Espresso districts and schools and represents a significant enhancement to Espresso. It enables teachers to more easily differentiate instruction and assess student understanding against learning objectives using resource usage levels and quiz results.
Lewis Bronze, CEO of Espresso Education commented, “Teachers have told us they’d love to be able to create assignments for their students using our resources. We think our new Lesson Planner tool will help them discover the full potential of Espresso, to drive students’ learning and progression all in a simple and reportable way.”
