The Nokia TA-1000, which received certification from China’s 3C last week, has been leaked online yet again. According to the latest leak, the handset will be marketed as the Nokia E1 and is going to be an entry-level Android smartphone.

The E1 is expected to feature a 5.2 or 5.3” sized display with 720 x 1280 HD resolution, which is slightly on the higher side for an affordable handset. Under the hood, we could be looking at the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core SoC clocked at 1.4 GHz, paired with the Adreno 308 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Internal storage will be 16GB, not too bad for an entry-level handset. We should see a microSD card slot as well, so users will be able to expand the storage easily by up to 32GB at least.

In the camera department, the E1 will apparently sport a 13MP primary snapper at the back and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Like the rest of the upcoming Nokia lineup, the E1 is going to run on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box, with a very minimal skin likely to be running on top of it.

While it has not been confirmed, the 3C certification suggests the Nokia E1 will be one of the first new smartphones to be announced by HMD at the Mobile World Congress next month. Along with the E1, we also expect to see the mid-range D1 to go official at the event. More Nokia-branded smartphones and tablets will be joining the initial lineup through Q3 2017.
