An upcoming Huawei entry-level smartphone with the model number MYA-L03 has showed up on the Geekbench database recently. According to reports, the smartphone could be launched as the “Huawei Maya”.

The Geekbench listing for the smartphone reveals that it will be running on a MediaTek MT6737T quad-core chipset clocked at 1.4 GHz, paired with 2GB of RAM. The MediaTek MT6737T chip is based on the ARM Cortex-A53 architecture and is manufactured on a 28nm process. It includes the Mali-T720 MP2 GPU, which is faster than the Adreno 306 GPU but doesn’t hold a candle to the newer Adreno GPUs found on the latest 400- series Snapdragon chipsets. The benchmark listing also tells us that the smartphone is currently being tested on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which basically confirms the smartphone will not be launched with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box.

The MYA-L03 FCC filings suggest Huawei will have another version of the device with the model number MYA-L23. While the MYA-L03 includes a single SIM card slot, the MYA-L23 will include dual SIM card slots. The FCC filing for the smartphone lists the battery capacity as being 2920mAh, which is definitely quite impressive for an entry-level offering. The image of the back cover shown in the FCC filing suggests the smartphone will have a removable battery, which is not very surprising as most manufacturers do not use a metal unibody design on their entry-level handsets.
