The first production Model 3 is now off the assembly line and ready to go to Elon Musk, its owner. Musk was able to receive the first Model 3 because the real first preorder customer gave his position in the queue to the CEO as a birthday present. Musk shared images of the car on Twitter.

In some prior cases, Musk was able to receive the first unit because he was the first person to pay full price for the Roadster and Model X. In this case, he wouldn’t have received the car as fast if not for the customer.
This particular vehicle is black, but customers can choose from other color options when customizing their car. Deliveries of the Model 3 are going to start around July 28.
