The Elephone P8 Mini is one of numerous smartphones from China with a dual camera setup on the rear, and like many of them, it comes at a budget price. We’ve seen many of its kind like the Vernee Mix 2, Ulefone Mix, Vkworld Mix Plus, and Blackview S8 launching in the past few months, but what makes the Elephone P8 Mini stand out is the relative quality of its internal specs with its outer design.
The Elephone P8 Mini comes with specs like the latest version of Android, Android 7.0 Nougat and of course it’s most alluring feature is its dual camera setup which allows you to capture professional-level photos.
The smartphone goes for around $139.99 normally on e-commerce stores, but you can get it for just $119.99 on Gearbest this Christmas by using the coupon code Xmas448 when checking out. Here’s proof:

Display & Design
The Elephone P8 Mini comes with a compact 5-inch display which is good enough for those with small hands, and those who like me want to avoid the risk of falling frequently associated with large devices. Quite uncommon for a smartphone in its category, the P8 Mini has a Full HD (1080 * 1920) pixel resolution, offering vibrant colours and good display quality.
The device doesn’t incorporate the bezel-less design that has become common-place in most Chinese smartphones, and that might be a good thing for some as it reduces the fragility of the device. It uses capacitive buttons for navigation and features a fingerprint sensor on the rear.
Performance & Storage
The Elephone P8 Mini is powered under the hood by a MediaTek MT6750T processor which uses eight cores (octa-core) and can operate at a maximum speed of 1.5GHz. This processor is what is found in most smartphones in its category, and while it can’t do heavy lifting like the flagships, it’s quite efficient in regular and even some heavy tasks. A Mali-T860 GPU processes its graphics.
The P8 Mini comes with 4GB of RAM for multi-tasking and 64GB of internal memory which can be further expanded up to 128GB with the aid of an external microSD card. The smartphone performs well with an AnTuTu Benchmark score of 42,593.
Camera
The dual 13MP and 2MP cameras on the rear of the smartphone allow you to add Bokeh effects to your photos, making them look more professional. As we’ve found out in our review, the Elephone P8 Mini captures decent and clear images, even in low-light. Selfies are not bad too with a 16MP front camera.
Battery, Connectivity & Software
The Elephone P8 Mini packs a 2680mAh battery that can get you through more than half a day on average use. It is compatible with 4G LTE networks, and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with a custom EleUI 1.0 user interface layered on top.
