ECS is preparing an update to its Liva line of tiny desktop computers, and the new model will be the company’s first to feature an Intel Apollo Lake processor.

The upcoming ECS Liva Z is expected to be a fanless computer that measures about 5″ x 4.6″ 1.3″.

ECS describes the system as “silent and reliable,” and says it will be able to support 4K displays.

The company doesn’t say which Apollo Lake processor the new Liva Z will use. But the Apollo Lake family includes 6 watt and 10 watt dual-core and quad-core Celeron and Pentium chips that should offer up to 30 percent better CPU and graphics performance than the Braswell chips they replace.

FanlessTech reports that the ECS Liva Z will use a 10 watt chip, which means it will probably have a Celeron J3355, Celeron J3455, or Pentium J4205 chip.

The computer supports both eMMC and M.2 SSD storage and has two SODIMM slots for up to 8GB of DDR3L RAM. There are dual Gigabit Ethernet jacks, three USB 3.0 ports, one USB 3.0 Type-C port, mini DisplayPort and HDMI ports, and 802.11ac WIFi and Bluetooth 4.0 as well as a 3.5mm headset jack.
