Now the competition on smartphone cameras are getting fierce, smartphone makers not only put higher resolution camera but also add more sensors to a phone. DOOGEE, the growing smartphone manufacturer recently unveiled its latest product DOOGEE BL7000, which got our interest because it claimed to put 13MP camera both in the rear and front face.
Since the manufacturer is already introducing another smartphone of the new series. The Doogee BL7000 has a hardware similar to the BL5000. Both smartphones have a 5.5-inch FullHD display and a very large battery. There is, however, a clear difference in design. The BL7000 has a very unusual look and feel with a leather back.
Design
In terms of design, Doogee with the BL7000 quite dared. The outstanding feature is the back of the leather. Whether it is genuine or artificial leather, the manufacturer does not specify, but we had in the past, but also China smartphones with real leather in our test lab. Much more interesting than the question, however, of what kind of leather is, is the question, whether this material can also impress with buyers impression. After all, the mobile phone stands out clearly from the unified mass. A high-quality impression should also be provided by a metal frame, which should give a stable impression in the hand.
The Doogee BL7000 also has a gigantic 7000mAh battery. This means that the mobile phone has more than twice as much capacity as normal smartphones. This is of course also reflected in the weight and the dimensions. With 220g the mobile phone is quite heavy and the thickness of 1.1cm is clearly above what you are accustomed to today.
Display of the Doogee BL7000
On the display, Doogee relies on a 5.5-inch FullHD panel. This results in a mobile phone with a pixel density of 404ppi, which makes it no longer possible to perceive individual pixels. For the use of multimedia is equipped with the mobile phone so well. The display operates as standard with IPS technology and has rounded 2.5D glass. Whether the glass is also specially protected against scratches, the manufacturer does not specify.
Hardware
The Doogee BL7000 speaks to the standard user with a MediaTek MT6750T. The manufacturer markets the smartphone as a business mobile phone and for office applications, the chip also provides enough performance.
The 8 Cortex-A53 cores of the processor clock with 4 x 1.5GHz and 4 x 1.0GHz and are supported by an MALI-T860 GPU with the 650MHz clock. In the Antutu benchmark, this results in approximately 43,000 points and provides sufficient performance for daily tasks like Youtube, WhatsApp, and surfing. Also, classic Android games like Temple-RUN or Subwaysurf can play the smartphone without problems. For more demanding games, it is probably because of the high display resolution problematic and you have to switch to a low graphics setting. As a clear advantage of the smartphone, the large memory modules are to be evaluated in each case. With 4GB of memory, the Doogee BL7000 has enough capacity for multitasking and some apps,
As a system is the current Android 7 installed – of course including Playstore and German language. Doogee changed the system of his mobile phones mostly optically something but remains relatively close to the normal Android system. Updates are easily installed via OTA.
Camera
The sensor DOOGEE BL7000 used is Samsung ISOCELL, which improves focus speed and image quality a lot than other brands. It’s not surprising if they just have one Samsung sensor in the rear, but this time, it’s two. DOOGEE claims it is the same sensor they used in front camera and back camera.
Besides, DOOGEE BL7000 houses dual camera lined up vertically in the rear, both 13MP. The assistant camera is working to make blur effect, as the DOOGEE family always did.
Another dual camera smartphone. So far none of the smaller Chinese manufacturers could convince with a usable dual cam. We, therefore, assume that this will not be the case with the BL7000. It is to be hoped that the camera provides decent standard shots. The two cameras on the back both have 13 megapixels and the main camera works with a Samsung Isocell sensor. The front camera has a very high resolution with 13 megapixels, but this does not have to correlate with a good picture quality. In how far pictures can be taken with the mobile phone, we will then find in our review.
Connectivity
The Doogee BL7000 is a dual-sim smartphone and two Nano SIM cards can be used simultaneously. Alternatively one can use one of the two Simslots to the memory extension with a Micro SD. All 2G, 3G, and 4G ( LTE ) frequencies required in Germany are supported and the use of the mobile Internet is therefore unlimited. Furthermore, there is a WiFi module (presumably only 2.4GHz) and Bluetooth (presumably 4.0) as well as location determination by GPS. The standard proximity sensors for brightness and acceleration bring the BL7000. An e-compass and a gyroscope seems to have the mobile phone according to the manufacturer’s information, but not installed.
Battery life
7000mAh are already an announcement. To suck the smartphone in one day sucks because there is already an impossibility. As a standard user, you can count with about 3 days runtime. The strong battery life, however, you have to pay with the thick case and the heavy weight. What is pleasing is that the mobile phone is equipped with a 9V / 2A fast-charging function.
Availability & Price
With such a nice spec sheet, the price of DOOGEE BL7000 only cost $199.99, and the presale of it in AliExpress could be as low as $159.99. Now the pre-order is open in DOOGEE official sites, you can visit and join the giveaway there.
Conclusion
The hardware of the Doogee BL7000 sounds like a standard China Smartphone for about $200. From the competition, the mobile phone stands out with its large battery and the leather back. The first we think is a good idea, whether the unusual design meets however with great pleasure with buyers, we dare to doubt. Presumably, most buyers access the more discreet Doogee BL5000, which has a slightly smaller battery and a less discerning design.
