Disney will launch its own streaming service in two years and it’s removing its library of content from Netflix as a result. Even though that service will boast a strong library, it’s still limited compared to a regular streaming service, which is why the company doesn’t plan to charge much.
According to CEO Bob Iger, the service will cost “substantially” less than a Netflix subscription. Netflix goes for $8 to $14 per month, suggesting people may gain access to Disney’s content for around $5/month or less.
The streaming option will have a “lot of high quality” content when it launches, including a new live-action Star Wars show.
