Dell XPS 13 convertible notebook leaks ahead of CES

The Dell XPS 13 line of laptops are thin and light computers with compact designs thanks to super-slim bezels around the display. They tend to have reasonably affordable starting prices, and relatively decent specs.

Dell’s been selling XPS 13 laptops for the past few years, and while some models have touchscreen displays, one thing the company hasn’t done yet is offer a model with a convertible tablet design.

But it looks like that’s about to change.

As spotted by Windows Central, Dell has posted a picture of an unannounced Dell XPS 13 (9365) notebook to its website… and it features a convertible or 2-in-1 design. The hinge allows the laptop screen to fold back 360 degrees so that you can hold the 13 inch computer like a tablet.

Dell has not posted any details to go with the picture. But it’s pretty clear that this laptop has slim display bezels, USB ports and what looks like an audio jack, and support for use in tablet and notebook modes.

If the specs are similar to the XPS 13 (9600), then we can probably expect to see laptops with 7th-gen Intel Core “Kaby Lake” processors, 1920 x 1080 pixel or 3200 x 1800 pixel display options, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of solid state storage, although entry-level models may have as little as 4GB of memory and 128GB of storage.

I suspect we’ll learn more about the upcoming convertible notebook at CES this week.
