Dell is outing a new IPS based monitor, and it is going to be an UltraWide one at a whopping 3840 x 1600 pixels, the model name is the U3818DW. Typically you’d end at 3440 x 1440 resolution on a 34” 21:9. This puppy has a 37.5” curved screen.
The U3818DW uses a 37.5” AH-IPS panel and has a moderate 2300R curve, which brings it towards a 24:10 (2.4:1) aspect ratio. The monitor has a 60Hz refresh rate, 1000:1 static contrast and 178°/178° viewing angles. The backlight based on a flicker-free WLED part offering 99% sRGB. 10-bit colour is supported, however by 8-bit + FRC dithering. The monitor comes factory calibrated in a sRGB preset. An 8ms grey to grey response time is specified in the ‘Normal’ mode and 5ms in the ‘Fast’ response time mode.
