CyanogenMod is one of the most popular custom ROMs for the Android devices. Over the last few months, we have learned that Cyanogen Inc. is having hard times and that was undergoing layoffs. Reports also mentioned that they would be focusing their efforts more on apps.
This was quickly denied by the company’s co-founder Steve Kondik, saying that CyanogenMod will not be going anywhere. Although that is true, he also made a comment earlier this week saying that “there isn’t really going to be much if any involvement from the Inc this time around.” Most of the works are going to be done by himself so we assume that the new build won’t be available that soon.
