Chinese OEM CUBE has created a 7 inch Windows 10 Mobile handset, the WP10. When we last saw the handset on AliExpress Spain it was a rather pricy 300 Euro, which was a bit much for a Snapdragon 220 handset.
The smartphone however is now on pre-order from Gearbest for a much more reasonable $137 (£108) which seems reasonable for the very unique form factor.
The smartphone has a massive 6.98 inch 720P HD screen, a Snapdragon 220 processor, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB storage expandable by 128 GB microSD card, 5 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front-facing camera and is only 7.6 mm thick, with a 2850 mAh battery.
The device claims all kinds of special enhancements, including a “denoising mic”, “LOUD VOICE” technology for clearer calls, quick charging technology, support for USB OTG, and the handset is of course a phone, not tablet, with full 3G and LTE support.
The device appears to be designed to skirt Microsoft’s early chassis requirements, which said Windows Mobile handsets should not have screens larger than 7 inches, but Microsoft recently revised these to allow Windows 10 Mobile handsets as large as 9 inches.
The device, which is set to ship on the 17th November can be pre-ordered at Gearbest -.
