Citrix Found A Way To Run Win 32 Apps On Windows 10 S

Microsoft’s latest Windows 10 S was launched as a competitor to Google’s Chrome OS, offering a safer and more stable computing experience to Windows users. However, just like the Chrome OS, the new Windows 10 S has some limitation when it comes to apps.

The OS isn’t able run Win 32 apps or at least Microsoft doesn’t allow them. This means that apps such as Chrome are not available, but it was only a matter of time before someone finds a solution for that.

At the Citrix Synergy event late last month, Citrix unveiled a new Receiver app that “opens the door for the Win32 apps to run on Windows 10 S.”

The Receiver is a UWP app, which means it works across many of Microsoft’s platforms such as Windows Mobile (with support for Continuum), Surface Hub, HoloLens, and even their IoT platforms. It is available from the Windows Store for free and runs all Win32 apps in windowed mode.
