Circles.Life has had a very quick rise to prominence in Singapore. Only officially launching six months previously, it has become the leading no-contract phone plan in the country. Using the selling point of potentially unlimited data, the company has won over many hearts in the country. Today, they have announced yet another selling point to win potential users over. Users both new and old can pay an extra S$20, and get 20GB. Needless to say, this is a very impressive incentive. However, this is just the beginning of Circles.Life’s plan for expansion.

Before making the announcement, the Circles.Life corporate team came out to talk excitedly about all that they have managed to achieve since official launch. Rameez Ansar, Co-Founder and Director said, “Circles.Life was created with one mission: to give power back to the customers. We do this by creating an unparalleled customer experience and providing innovative products for data-savvy customers.

“We are already the leading no-contract mobile plan in Singapore. Circles.Life believes innovation and an unwavering focus on the customer is key to entering and winning any telco market. In Singapore, we are on track to achieving a high single digit market share within a few years.” This was put at a respectable four to six percent share. This might seem low, but considering that a fourth telco has only just won the bidding for bandwidth, this is an impressive number for such a young company.

Emphasis is definitely on providing what Ansar and co consider a serious market gap. Data has become a currency more valuable than talk time or SMS in Singapore. However, the big three telecom companies have so far been unwilling to provide much more than a few GB at a reasonable price. This is what makes the 20GB for S$20 such a potentially game-changing offer. With the base plan of S$28, users can get a minimum of 24GB for S$48 a month. None of the other telcos come even close to matching this.

Circles.Life is looking beyond Singapore over the next few years. Ansar says that once they have solidified their base here, they want to expand first to another three to five countries in Asia, and by 2020 want to make steps to being a world leader by 2020. Indonesia and Hong Kong are first on the list for this year. Circles.Life have even made an additional hire in the form of Donald Chan, formerly COO of Clifford Capital and with experience with Temasek Holdings and MAS. Circles.Life certainly are bringing out big guns for this expansion.

With the fourth telco TPG coming to Singapore soon, there is a chance that Circles.Life’s plans for market share might be at risk. Ansar says however that he isn’t too worried, because there isn’t a large enough market gap. “They will have an impact if they have a digital strategy,” he says however, reinforcing Circles.Life’s company philosophy.

Anyone who was considering taking the plunge and moving to this no-contract telco, this is a very enticing offer. One or two attending journalists mentioned just how good of a deal this could be considering what the mainstream telcos offer. Take a look at the website for more details.
