China Mobile sees on-year growth in 1H16

China Mobile has reported first-half 2016 operating revenues of CNY370.351 billion (US$56.68 billion) increasing 7.1% on year, EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, amortization) of CNY134.350 billion up 2.9%, operating profit CNY66.131 billion up 5.5% and net profit CNY60.618 billion up 5.6%.
Operating revenues consisted of CNY325.423 billion from telecom services and CNY44.928 billion from terminal device and other services sales, with the former including CNY195.173 billion from data transfer services and CNY120.437 billion from voice communication services.
As of the end of June 2016, China Mobile had deployed 1.32 million 4G base stations around China and provided VoLTE (voice over LTE) services in nearly 300 cities. During January-June 2016, the number of 4G subscribers increased over 19 million each month to total 429 million at the end of June.
