Taiwan-based Integrated Service Technology (IST), which offers full-scope verification and analysis services to the IC engineering industry with customers covering the whole spectrum of the electronics industry from IC design to end products, has acquired a factory owned by IC backend house Siliconware Precision Industries (SPIL) for a total of NT$412 million (US$12.9 million), according to company filings with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).
Acquiring the factory located at the Hsinchu Science Park, norther Taiwan, and equipment including cleanroom facilities aims to respond to long-term business development and capacity expansion needs, IST said.
IST previously acquired a factory, also in Hsinchu, previously owned by Wistron NeWeb for a total of NT$356 million.
According to SPIL, the company will recognize an investment gain of NT$19.4 million from the sale.
