261

Blizzard is setting up its first eSports stadium in the world and it’ll initially be focused on Overwatch. The new Taipei studio, known simply as the Blizzard eStadium, can fit up to 250 people. It’ll be used for local matches and international tournaments in the Asia-Pacific region.

The eStadium will first be used on April 8, when Blizzard kicks off its Overwatch Pacific Championship. Eight teams from Taiwan, Japan, Australia, and Thailand will be competing over the course of 11 weeks.

Of the 8 entering the championship, 3 will move on to the playoffs with the hope of entering the Overwatch World Cup.

Blizzard will also be using the location for other competitive matches in Hearthstone, Starcraft 2, and other games.
