BitFenix has announced the Whisper M line of modular power supplies, made by OEM Channel Well Technology (CWT). The series will be available in 450W, 550W, 650W, 750W, and 850W capacities.
With a focus on silent operation, the Whisper M series PSUs come with a 135mm FDB industrial quality fan that works at a much lower voltage of 3.5v at 500rpm ± 10%. This, along with ultra-low bearing noise allows the Whisper M to operate at noise levels of less than 18dBA at less than 60% loads at 25°C.
The 650W, 750W, and 850W models feature a dedicated quad +12V rails with an advanced voltage switching circuit, while the 450W and 550W models feature three +12V rails. All models come with 100% Japanese industrial capacitors for high component life, high-performance flat ribbon-style cables and connectors, LLC Resonant Topology, and a separate DC-to-DC circuit. The 750W and 850W models support up to industrial servers, thanks to availability of dual CPU 4+4pin cables.
The list of protection mechanisms include Over Current Protection (OCP), Over Voltage Protection (OVP), Under Voltage Protection (UVP), Over Power Protection (OPP), Short Circuit Protection (SCP), Over Temperature Protection (OTP), No Load Operation (NLO), and Surge & Inrush Protection (SIP). The Whisper M series power supplies come backed by 7 years of warranty and BitFenix Online Support as well.
