Windows OS is an absolute leader in the convertible laptops and 2-in-1 tablets markets. We can say the same for Intel as well. This simply means most of the Windows-running laptops and tablets are powered by an Intel chip. There is a wide range of SoCs launched for this purpose. Some of them cost much and can be found on such models as the Xiaomi Notebook Pro. But some of them are targeting cheaper products. Say, most of Jumper and Chuwi products are packed with mid-range Intel chips. This allows the manufacturers to come in with inexpensive devices and make a tough competition to the beasts such as Apple and Microsoft. Say, the Chuwi LapBook Air is considered to be one of the best alternatives of the Apple MacBook Air, as the name suggests. In this sense, the Chuwi SurBook is the best replacement for the Surface Pro. But talking about these monsters we forget about the newly launched models. Recently, the Chinese laptop maker announced the Chuwi SurBook Mini with a smaller screen and more affordable price tag. It is currently available at the lowest price of $245.99 after applying the coupon (code: Xmas334). So we decided to get a closer look at its features.

That’s not difficult to guess the Chuwi SurBook Mini is the lightened variant of the original model. It sports a 10.8-inch screen, which is a bit smaller than the 12.3-inch display on the SurBook. Therefore, their resolutions are different as well. If the Mini variant comes with a 1920 x 1280 pixels, the regular model provides a resolution of 2736 x 1824 pixels.
Both models come with a kickstand, which can adjust various positions up to 125 degrees. This is a very useful feature initially seen on the original Surface. It allows us to use it as a monitor when watching movies or working on it via plugged keyboards and a mouse.
What we like most about this model is the unchanged processor. The Chuwi SurBook Mini continues featuring the same Intel Celeron N3450 chip, which can reach up to 2.2GHz frequency when running at maximum. It’s a quite common chip proven its ability to provide smooth performance for many times on various models. The chip also paired with a 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage. This is the second biggest change after the screen size. As you remember, the regular SurBook comes with a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
You won’t believe, but the Chuwi SurBook Mini is packed with a way larger capacity battery than its higher variant. The latter comes with a 5000mAh battery, while the Mini model sports an 8000mAh Li-ion polymer battery supporting 12V/2A charging. Thanks to it the battery fully charges in 3 hours and provides up to 5 hours of online video playback.
At last, the Chuwi SurBook Mini is great when it comes to connectivity. Besides the dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth options, it also comes with two USB 3.0 and one USB Type-C ports. So the charging, as well as the data transfer, will be implemented way faster and safer.
No one doubts the Chuwi SurBook Mini provides the best build quality and stable performance, as the rest tablets and laptops coming our way from this manufacturer have shown great performance. This model has launched a couple of months back, but it has already managed to win customers’ hearts due to its stylish look and a decent specs list.
