beingNet Alliance to collaborate with partners to develop IoB solutions for agriculture, medical care
Aaron Lee, Taipei; Joseph Tsai, DIGITIMES [Friday 2 December 2016]

beingNet Alliance, established by Acer founder Stan Shih to promote Internet of Beings (IoB), on December 1 signed cooperation agreements with several partners, including Hiwin Technologies, Advantech, EBM Technologies and IBM’s cloud computing business unit, for vertical collaboration to develop IoB solutions for agricultural production and medical care.

Shih also invited two ex-government officials and an ex-principal of a Taiwan university to become president of the alliance, president of the medical application wing, and president of the agricultural application wing.

Shih urged IT players to develop solutions specifically for eastern cultures since most of existing first-tier IT companies are developing solutions based on western cultures, which may not suit Asia countries fully.
