Amazon Web Services has closed new buyer entry to a number of of its cloud providers together with the AWS Cloud9 cloud-based IDE and the AWS CodeCommit non-public Git repository service. The closings had been posted in late July, and had been efficient instantly.

Other AWS providers closed to new prospects embody the Amazon S3 Select, Amazon S3 Glacier Select,  Amazon CloudSearch, Amazon Forecast, and AWS Data Pipeline.

The firm cites plenty of choices for patrons to transition to different providers. “After giving it a lot of thought, we made the decision to discontinue new access to a small number of services, including AWS CodeCommit,” mentioned Jeff Barr, AWS chief evangelist in an X submit on July 30. “While we are no longer onboarding new customers to these services, there are no plans to change the features or experience you get today, including keeping them secure and reliable. We also support migrations to other AWS or third-party solutions better aligned with your evolving needs. Keep the feedback coming. We’re always listening.”
