Self-driving Tesla vehicles will be able to make the journey from Los Angeles to New York City before the end of 2017, says CEO Elon Musk. He mentioned the cross-country tip during a TED talk this past week. The same talk featured a teaser image for Tesla’s electric semi.
During a cross-country trip, Tesla employees will still need to be behind the wheel, but the journey will demonstrate how far along autonomous driving technology is.
