New features include several new reporting features, new data connectors, and new analytics pane to find all the analytical capabilities in Power BI and help in users in data exploration.

This update also includes new data connector that allows you to import data from Snowflake into your Power BI reports. Try this connector by enabling the Preview feature option, which can be found in the Options dialog (File -> Options and Settings -> Options) under the Global -> Preview Features tab. For now, the connector supports importing data from Snowflake into Power BI Desktop. In future updates, Power BI team will also add DirectQuery support to this connector.

Another important feature in this update is the ability to recover your work from application crashes even when you haven’t saved your file. If the Power BI Desktop crashes, when you open the file next time, you will see an info bar allowing you to recover those files.
