At the Frankfurt Motor Show, Audi introduced a new electric vehicle concept that’d be capable of driving ~435 miles per charge, surpassing Tesla’s vehicles by 100+ miles. The four-door Aicon has a curved glass roof, four electric motors producing 405 lb-ft of torque, and regenerative braking.
Audi specifically focused on extending the car’s range and partly accomplished that goal by utilizing a lightweight design.
Wireless charging support is included. It’s capable of reaching 80% with just a 30-minute charge.
Because this is only a concept car, the actual specs of an eventual production vehicle could differ. But the Aicon does help to show where EVs and battery tech are headed.
Audi is also using the car to show how vehicle interiors may change once autonomous driving arrives.
