The guys that have been feeding box and packaging photos of the ASUS ROG Crosshair VII Hero (WIFI), now also revealed full photos of the product. If you have no idea what I am rambling about, that would be the AMD X470 motherboard that ASUS will release (among others).
It’s a good looking motherboard alright, as posted by Videocardz, You can see that the VRM area has received an aesthetic upgrade as well as some other things.
The board reveals four DIMMs slots, likely supporting faster clocked DDR4 memory. ASUS will cover one out of the two M2 SSD slots with a heatsink. I like the chipset heatsink BTW, very ROGgy. The CPU can be powered with an 8-pin ATX power header and optionally you can use the additional 4-pin header, 12 phases it seems.
The board will get three PCIe x16 slots, two have been metal shielded, the first should run at full x16 GEn 3.0 PCIe lanes, the second 8 lanes and the fourth we assume 4 lanes. The audio CODEC very likely is the ASUS optimized Realtek 1220S. You can spot six SATA3 connectors as well.
This motherboard is expected to launch alongside Ryzen 2000 ZEN+ processors, April 19th.
