The Asus BRT-AC828 Dual-WAN VPN router announced in December last year is finally available in Singapore. The AC2600-class Wi-Fi router has been priced at S$559 and comes with a 3-year warranty.
The BRT-AC828 features a four-transmit, four-receive (4×4) antenna configuration with fine-tuned power output for ensuring the best possible reception. Designed to handle heavy usage with ease, the router can support up to 250 simultaneous Wi-Fi connections, with the revolutionary MU-MIMO technology allowing multiple MU-MIMO compatible clients to work at full speed. The router includes two physical 1Gbps WAN ports that deliver aggregated WAN bandwidth of up to 2Gbps. You can connect a 4G LTE dongle as well to the USB 3.0 port, which can be configured as either a primary or secondary WAN for greater versatility.
In addition to providing versatile Wi-Fi performance, the BRT-AC828 can function as a mini-NAS as well, thanks to the built-in M.2 storage slot that can accept ultra-fast M.2 SSD modules. To make sure your sensitive company information is protected against threats, the router incorporates the powerful ASUS AiProtection feature with exclusive Trend Micro technology, which uses real-time network monitoring to detect malware, viruses and other intrusions before it reaches the network devices. The integrated Ipsec virtual private network (VPN) with hardware encryption engine can be used to securely allow employees to access the company’s internal network from home or from another remote location. The Virtual LAN (VLAN) support enables IT managers to manage the network for different departments within a company for a more secure and seamless working environment.
