Asus has announced a new Compact Electronics Bay (CEB) workstation motherboard based on the Intel X99 chipset, the X99 E-10G WS. The board supports four-way multi-GPU setups at full PCI Express 3.0 x16 speed to deliver extreme graphics performance. It supports the latest Intel Core i7 X-series/i7/Xeon E5-2600 v4/v3 and 1600 v4/v3 processors.
One of the most impressive features of the new board is that it is 10GBase-T capable, with dual 10-gigabit (10G) Intel Ethernet on board. The latest high-speed networking hardware operates at up to 10Gbps, which is ten times faster than traditional gigabit LAN sockets. In addition to fast networking, the motherboard offers fast storage connectivity as well with the latest USB 3.1, M.2 and U.2 connectivity.
The motherboard is equipped with seven PCIe 3.0 slots, which means it can easily accommodate up to four dual-slot graphics cards. That makes it an ideal choice for graphics professionals, as it supports both four-way NVIDIA GeForce SLI as well as AMD CrossFire X configurations. In addition to graphics cards, the motherboard also offers room for RAID cards, PCI Express-based SSDs, video capture cards, and other such components.
Like other motherboards from Asus, the X99-E-10G WS offers 5-way Optimization that allows users to sort all complex settings with a single click for an instant performance boost. Moving on to audio, the board features Crystal Sound 3 audio technology that provides shielding and protection from electromagnetic interference by separating the left and right audio channel circuits. It also uses a de-pop circuit design, new power pre-regulator to reduce input power noise, an audio amplifier, and premium Japanese-made audio capacitors. The motherboard also comes with SafeSlot, which is a PCIe slot reinvented by Asus to provide superior retention and shearing resistance.
The Asus X99-E-10G WS motherboard is currently retailing in Singapore at SGD $999.
