ASUS has launched a new card based on NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1060, featuring the classic dual-fan DirectCU II cooler instead of the newer DirectCU III cooling solution found on the STRIX GTX 1060 6GB card that has been on the market for some time now.
The new model carries the SKU code STRIX-GTX1060-DC206G and is currently listed on a few regional Asus websites. Asus exclusive DirectCU II technology utilizes 0dB fans for 30% cooler and up to 3X quieter performance, letting you enjoy gaming in complete silence (when playing games such as League of Legends and StarCraft). The card offers impressive reliability as well, thanks to industry-only Auto-Extreme technology. Phase Super Alloy Power II components also contribute to enhanced durability, reliability, and enhanced efficiency.
The STRIX-GTX1060-DC206G features a base clock of 1595 MHz and a GPU Boost clock of 1811 MHz in OC Mode. In the default Gaming Mode, you get a 1569 MHz base clock and a 1785 MHz GPU Boost clock. It draws power using a single 6-pin PCIe connector, just like most other GeForce GTX 1060 cards. The 6GB of GDDR5 memory is left untouched at 8008 MHz. Display connectors include a DVI-D, 2 HDMI ports, and 2 DisplayPorts. In terms of dimensions, the card measures 21.8 x 12.5 x 4.2 cm.
Asus hasn’t revealed any info regarding the card’s pricing or availability.
