ASUS today introduced the BRT-AC828, an ultra-fast AC2600-class dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi router utilizing a four-transmit, four-receive (4×4) MIMO design with four external antennas and fine-tuned power output for optimized reception. The company’s AiRadar tech combines Beamforming with the four external antennas to ensure reliable and ultra-fast Wi-Fi with combined speed of up to 2534Mbps throughput.

Aimed at the enterprise segment, the BRT-AC828 packs all the networking features that are vital to growing companies. With dual Gigabit WAN ports, the router is capable of delivering up to 2Gbps of aggregated bandwidth, with automatic failover in case of an interruption to one of the internet connections. Some of the other business-focused features offered by the BRT-AC828 include an easy-to-configure secure Wi-Fi portal for customers, simplified device management using Device Grouping, and a RADIIUS server for secure authentication and easy user administration.

A unique feature that the new router offers is an M.2 SSD slot for backup and file storage, basically letting you use it as a mini-NAS. Another nifty feature is the ability to use LTE mobile broadband as both a backup as well as your primary internet connection. The router supports up to 250 simultaneous connections, with the MU-MIMO technology allowing multiple MU-MIMO-compatible clients to work at their maximum speeds in order to enhance network bandwidth. It also offers a wide range of protection features such as Intrusion Prevention System, Content Filtering, and a few other advanced features.
