While the United States claims Russia hacked the Democratic National Committee and leaked information to WikiLeaks, Julian Assange is adamant that’s not what happened. The WikiLeaks founder says he knows who their source is and they’re not connected to Russia.
A recent report from the US intelligence community said otherwise.
Assange’s latest statement on the matter comes from a promo clip for an upcoming interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity.
We can say, we have said repeatedly over the last two months, that our source is not the Russian government. And it is not a state party, – Assange
The assertion from the US is that Russia hacked the DNC with the goal of helping Trump get elected. It allegedly used WikiLeaks to spread information that could damage Hillary Clinton.
WikiLeaks denies it published content specifically to help Trump.
