ASRock has introduced a new gaming motherboard based on the Intel H110 chipset, the H110M-DS/Hyper. With an expected price tag of under $60, the motherboard should appeal to gamers looking for an affordable new motherboard to build a Skylake gaming PC.
Despite being an entry-level board, the H110M-DS Hyper does offer an impressive set of features. It uses digital PWM VRM power, with a 5 power phase design. For high reliability and stable performance, the board uses solid capacitors that have been designed to ensure longer lifetime. The motherboard includes two DDR4 DIMM slots, supporting up to 32GB dual channel DDR4 2133 memory.
Expansion slots include a single PCIe 3.0 x16 and a PCIe 2.0 x1 slot. Connectivity options include four SATA 6 Gb/s ports and four USB 3.0 ports (2 in the front and 2 in the rear). Key features include 7.1 channel audio using the Realtek ALC887 audio codec, ELNA audio capacitors, Realtek gigabit LAN (RTL8111GR), full spike protection (surge protection + lightning protection + ESD protection), Hyper BCLK Engine, UEFI EZ Mode, high density glass fabric PCB, ASRock Live Update, and App Shop.
In case you decide to go with this motherboard, do keep in mind that the only display output on the board is a dual-link DVI connector.
