Apple To Reduce Video Service Fee On App Store By 50%

219

Apple’s fee for video service subscriptions on the App Store may drop by 50% as long as the services integrate with its upcoming TV app. That app, which will be out next month, aggregates content from multiple services to make browsing easier.

Bloomberg reports the fee will drop from 30% to 15%. Companies can already get the fee down to 15% after a customer has been paying for a year.

Netflix has taken issue with TV’s data collection practices and is therefore not going to be available when the app launches. However, it may perhaps try to join TV if it means the fee is significantly reduced.
