After announcing two new iPhone 8 models, Apple has also announced the iPhone X, an all-new smartphone that comes with some impressive new features. The main highlight of the new model is the new Super Retina OLED display that has a distinctive notch cutout and very thin bezels.

The 5.8-inch display has 2,436 x 1,125 pixels resolution, pixel density of 458ppi, Dolby Vision and HDR support and one million-to-one contrast ratio. Since there is no home button, Apple has included various new gestures. To go to the home screen, just swipe up from the bottom or swipe from the bottom and pause for a second to open multitasking.

If you want to unlock the phone, just look at it and use the new Face ID recognition system. The system learns your face so when you wear a hat or glass, it will still recognize you. However, if your eyes are closed or if you are looking away, the phone will not unlock. Unfortunately, during the announcement, Craig Federighi couldn’t unlock the phone using Face ID.

Just like iPhone 8, the new model has the same 12-megapixel dual rear cameras with dual Optical Image Stabilisation on both cameras, and the front camera is also improved.

Apple iPhone X is powered by the same Apple A11 Bionic chipset, and while it is more powerful than its predecessor, the new model lasts 2 hours more. Apple has also unveiled a new Qi wireless charger called AirPower that can charge new iPhones, Watch and even the AirPods at the same time.

The base model comes with 64 GB of storage, but variant with 256 GB of native storage will be available. Things are not looking very good when it comes to the pricing. Apple iPhone X with 64 GB of storage starts at $999, while the price tag of model with 256 GB will be revealed later. The launch date is set for November 3.
