A few weeks after Apple issued an iOS 11.0.2 update for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, which fixed the cracking sounds issue, owners of the flagship iPhone X model are now reporting the same issue. Apple has yet to acknowledge the issue, but users are reporting that the iPhone X has seemingly developed a similar issue.
Owners are reporting a cracking and buzzing sound through the earpiece speaker at high volumes, which appears during calls, video playback or while listening to music. Since the sounds are heard only at higher volumes, this may well be the result of distortion, but guess we’ll find out soon whether it is software or hardware related.
