Apple has just announced the Product Red variant of the Smart Battery Case for the iPhone 7. As with everything in Apple’s Product Red line-up, a portion of the retail price will be donated to an organization that aims to fight AIDS around the world.
In terms of hardware, the Product Red Smart Battery case for the iPhone 7 is the same accessory as the regular version, which is available in either black or white. This means that customers get a 2365mAh battery (which should suffice to fully charge the iPhone 7 once), the controversial back hump that almost no one likes, as well as the ability to view how much of the battery the case has left right on the iPhone 7’s lock screen. The price of the new Product Red item is $99, same as what Apple asks for its regular smart battery case for the iPhone 7.
