Android 7.0 Nougat beta now available for the Samsung Galaxy…

238

On Monday, Samsung jumped the gun in the U.K., by distributing the Android 7.0 Nougat beta update to owners of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge who were participating in the Samsung Beta Program. But the servers stopped working, blocking the update from getting out. This is because Android 7.0 was not supposed to be released until November 9th.

Those interested in installing the Android 7.0 Nougat beta to their Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge, need to download the Samsung Beta Program app in the Google Play Store. Samsung needs to approve those seeking to test the Android 7.0 Nougat beta. This is similar to the way Motorola decides which Motorola Feedback Network members get to participate in a soak test prior to a software update.

As we said, the Android 7.0 Nougat beta was not supposed to be disseminated until November 9th, which is today. While we don’t have word yet about whether those Samsung Beta Program users in the U.K. can now officially load the update, those in Korea have the green light to test the Android 7.0 Nougat beta on their Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 edge from today through the middle of next month. The update includes the enhanced version of Doze, the Always-on screen, seamless software updates, the Grace UX and more.

Keep in mind that the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Olympic edition and the Batman Injustice edition are both ineligible to receive the beta version of the update to Android 7.0.
