Amazon already collects state sales taxes in many places throughout the US, but it hasn’t implemented that function everywhere. Come April 1, that’ll no longer be the case. It’s going to roll out sales tax in Hawaii, Idaho, Maine, and New Mexico.
Those are the last four states that haven’t seen Amazon collect sales tax. The only other states not affected are Alaska, Delaware, Oregon, Montana, and New Hampshire, all of which don’t have relevant taxes.
This month, Amazon added ten states to its list.
