Washington-based tech companies including Amazon, Microsoft, and Expedia are supporting the state’s lawsuit against the federal government over Trump’s immigration order. Attorney General Bob Ferguson is filing the suit in federal court. He’ll argue parts of the order are unconstitutional.
The tech companies are filing declarations in support of the legal action. Those declarations will explain how the executive order can hurt their businesses and employees.
Ferguson’s lawsuit is based on a few points. He claims the executive order violates the Constitution’s equal protection for all, that it moves in the direction of favoring one religion over another, and that it violates the right to due process.
I also want to mention that In our complaint, we talk about the real economic harm to Washington state from the President’s illegal action. Our complaint will be supported by declarations from entities like Expedia and Amazon, in which they lay out the significant harm that this executive order imposes on their business and their employees. – Ferguson
