HTC’s upcoming U event is one of this week’s highlights in the mobile world, especially since the company is expected to announce three new smartphones to the market. While we have a pretty good idea of what to expect from two of the new phones, specs for the third were almost completely unknown until now.
The alleged specs for the upcoming HTC U Play, also known as HTC Alpine were posted on Weibo, spotted by Slashleaks. The specs seem to be in line with previous rumors, which indicated that the upcoming U Play will be a mid-ranger, with less powerful components compared to the flagship HTC U Ultra.
The HTC U Play is said to come with a 5.2-inch full HD 1080p resolution and run a MediaTek MT6755 processor also known as Helio P10, the same that’s rumored to be incorporated in the HTC One X10, which will also be announced on January 12.
The HTC U Play could feature a 3GB of RAM
The report also mentions that the U Play phone, also known as HTC Alpine will feature 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, most likely with support for microSD for expanding the storage. The phone might feature a 16MP camera on the back and a 16MP front selfie shooter.
The HTC U Play might draw power from a 2,500mAh battery and feature a fingerprint scanner on the front. Previous rumors have indicated that the smartphone won’t feature a 3.5mm headphone jack, which will be replaced by the USB Type-C port.
Specs for the HTC U Ultra also leaked today indicated that the phone could feature a 6-inch Quad HD display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor. It might have a dual-camera setup on the back with 24MP and 13MP sensors. Take the information with a grain of salt, as nothing is for sure until the phones are announced.
