Smartphone leakster @OnLeaks is back again with an exciting new leak. This time, the leakster has come up with alleged renders of the Moto X (2017), based on factory CADs. Along with the renders, a 360-degree video has been published as well, giving you a detailed look at the upcoming handset.
The renders suggest the Moto X (2017) will feature a metal unibody design, similar to the Moto M released this year. However, in terms of the design, the Moto X (2017) appears to resemble the Moto Z more than the Moto M. There are no pogo pins at the back though, so the smartphone will not support the Moto Mod accessories like the Moto Z line. At the bottom, we can see a Micro USB port instead of the newer USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. In terms of dimensions, the Moto X (2017) is said to measure 150 x 73.8 x 8.4mm (9.5mm around the camera lens). The 8.4mm thickness suggests Motorola may cram in a significant sized battery inside the smartphone, although the exact capacity hasn’t been rumored yet.
The smartphone is likely to be introduced at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in late February, but we’re just speculating at this point. Motorola hasn’t been an active participant at the Mobile World Congress in the recent past, but with Lenovo running the show now, things might be a little different next year. As for the name, a rumor suggests Motorola will be marketing the device as the Moto C when it goes on sale.
