Alleged iPhone 7 press image leaks out

215

Tomorrow, September 7, is a very important day for Apple. The company is all set to announce a brand new iPhone family, which will likely include a 4.7-inch iPhone 7 and a 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus.

We’ve seen plenty of leaked photos showing iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus mockups, as well as various renders that tried to depict the upcoming handsets, but today we’re sharing something a bit different. Allegedly, what we have below is the first press image of the iPhone 7. According to Twitter user The Malignant (who provided reliable info in the past), the image is a snapshot from a video that should be presented during Apple’s official iPhone 7 event in China. The fact that the image is reportedly taken from a video could explain the somewhat faint Apple logo seen on the back of the device.

While we can’t be completely sure of this image’s authenticity, the iPhone that it’s showing certainly resembles most of the alleged iPhone 7 models seen until now. The new handset includes redesigned antenna lines, and doesn’t have a 3.5mm headset jack at the bottom (or anywhere else), but, other that that, it’s not too different from the iPhone 6s.

Save for the minor design changes, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are expected to bring many new and enhanced features, including an Apple A10 processor clocked at 2.4 GHz, water-resistance, improved 12 MP rear cameras (with 4K video recording at 60 fps), up to 3 GB of RAM, and up to 256 GB of internal memory. The iPhone 7 Plus may have a dual rear camera with optical zoom.

Most probably, Apple will start selling the new iPhones shortly after announcing them. Until we get all the official details on the handsets, you can check out our iPhone 7 rumor review, and our iPhone 7 Plus rumor review.
