A new report published on the website Nexus Blog claims to shed some light on the pricing of the upcoming Nexus smartphones from HTC, codenamed Marlin and Sailfish.
The website claims to have heard from its sources inside HTC that the two 2016 Nexus smartphones will be priced higher than previous Nexus devices. The Nexus 6P successor, codenamed Marlin, will reportedly start at $599 for the 32GB variant. Its smaller sibling, which is expected to succeed the LG-made Nexus 5X, will start at $449 for the 32GB variant.
For reference, the Nexus 6P was launched at $499 last year for the 32GB variant. The Nexus 5X on the other hand, was launched at $379 for the 16GB storage variant.
Both the Nexus Marlin and Sailfish are expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and will include 4GB of RAM. They will also feature a 12MP camera at the back, 8MP selfie cameras, a metal and glass body, and USB Type-C ports. As for the display, Marlin is likely to feature a large 5.5” display with 1440 x 2560 Quad HD resolution, while Sailfish will arrive with a smaller 5-inch display boasting of 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution.
