LG announced two affordable smartphones earlier this month, the LG X300 and LG Aristo, the latter was made available at T-Mobile and MetroPCS. It seems that LG is working on yet another affordable phone, the X230.
LG X230 recently received certification from the Bluetooth Interest Group (SIG), according to The Android Soul. Several models of the smartphone were certified, which means that the X230 could see a global launch sooner rather than later.
Bluetooth SIG listings don’t reveal any specs for upcoming phones, but the LG X230 was recently spotted on Geekbench, where some of its specs were revealed. It seems that the X230 will pack low-end components, like a MediaTek MT6737M processor and 1GB of RAM.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box
The phone won’t break the market upon its release, but it might be a satisfactory product for consumers who are looking for a smartphone with a sleek design and an affordable price.
The LG X230 is said to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is quite disappointing considering that even the low-end phones that LG announced earlier this month ran Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. LG X230 won’t be receiving an update to Nougat any time soon, that is if it really launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
LG announced the LG Aristo earlier this month, with a 5-inch HD display, a 5MP front camera with LED flash and a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. It runs a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The phone draws power from a 2,410mAh battery and comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
The X300 has a 5-inch LCD display with HD resolution, a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and a 5MP front camera for snapping selfies and conducting video calls. The phone has 2GB of RAM and runs the same processor as the LG Aristo.
