Today we got some leaked photos of a new rugged phone, named as Aermoo M1. Though the name is new to the market, it has reached a high level of water and dust proof, and got IP68, of course. Is it real IP68 and how did they achieve it? We can take a look at these photo revealing internal structure of Aermoo M1.

Design & Appearance
The biggest eye-catching part of Aermoo M1 will be the metal back cover, which is golden and shines. The design is not smooth at all, with decorative lines and screws. To protect the body, black plastic is used to cover the top and bottom. The back is all sealed with screws, which prevents it falling apart into pieces even when you are climbing or swimming.
As we can see, camera, fingerprint, NFC sensor, and a speaker is lined up vertically on the back.
After getting the screws out, you can remove one part of the back and find the SIM card and TF card slot. It’s hidden right below the camera. There are two SIM card slots and one Micro SD card slot. So you can use two SIM at the same time when you are roaming abroad.
According to other information, Aermoo M1 will be powered by Snapdragon octa-core processor, with 6GB of RAM and 64/128GB of internal storage. The camera is with a high resolution of 21.0 megapixels. And it will be juiced by a 5580mAh battery. Considering all these specs, Aermoo M1 is no doubt the most powerful rugged phone in the market for now.
Dissembling the Aermoo M1
To find out what measures is made to achieve IP68, we have to go further and disassemble the phone. I have to make it clear that this action may be bricking your phone. So it should be done under professional instruction.
Two screwdrivers will be needed to disassemble the phone. After we lose the screw, the phone can be split into two parts. All holes in the back cover are dealt with water proof process. So it can be submerged underwater for over 30 minutes. And it can shoot and record normally underwater.
Except for the water proof process, the phone is rounded firmly with a water and dust-proof rubber band, it can prevent all dust from getting into the phone.
A piece of sponge cushion is put on the back cover, right above the battery and NFC sensor, used as a shock absorber and protect these internal parts.
Both broadsides are using a metal bar to keep a unified look. The metal bars are screwed down to phone body. Moreover, plastic cushions are added to the metal button to make a better pressing touch.
If you are worrying about headphone jack or USB jack, that’s no need. Because Aermoo M1 has dust plug itself. And the plugs are attached to the phone body, so you don’t need to worry about losing it.
After the whole dissembling process, we can tell there are many parts of Aermoo M1 are dealt with an IP68 process. Though the material of the back cover is metal, it still keeps a nice anti-shock performance. That makes it a qualified rugged smartphone.
In the end, we should mention that this model is not the final version of Aermoo M1, and the practical performance of it needs further hands-on tests and review. We have notified that Aermoo M1 will come to market in July, that’s good news for outdoor enthusiasts.
