The Lightroom application for iPhones has just received a major update that brings some neat new features, as well as many under the hood improvements.

The most obvious change is the new edit interface, but a new info section has been added as well, along with a new capture interface with a brand new professional mode. Furthermore, Adobe confirmed that it has added support for all the latest cameras and lenses.

With the new edit interface, Adobe has made some changes to the way things are organized in the application, so it put similar tools into categories to make it faster to use tools that are often used together. Moreover, the update changes things a bit, as the interface has been modified to make it easier to use it with a single hand.

The new info section is meant to allow developers to “continue to deliver on the features that photographers have been asking for, turning their mobile devices into more and more capable image processing devices.”

The latest version of Lightroom brings a new capture interface and professional mode, something that Android users have been able to use since earlier this year. Basically, it allows users to enable a new professional mode that provides control over all aspects of the camera’s exposure and focus.

These are all the major changes included in Lightroom 2.6 for iOS devices, but it’s worth noting that the Android version of the app has been updated too.
